Dick was born in Farmingdale, New York, the middle child of five. He moved west immediately after high school to Colorado where he earned a BS/BA in Business at Colorado State University and later completed his MBA at the University of Colorado. His professional career centered around commercial real estate for institutional owners, starting at The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company as Real Estate Representative and retiring from The Equitable Life Assurance Society as Senior Vice President. He is now active in several family ventures.
In 1976 he married Linda, and they have three daughters and one grandchild.
