Jon & Jeanne Herrin

Field: U.S./Mexico Border
Home State: Georgia
Children: Jesse, Megan & Andrew

Jon and Jeanne Herrin live and serve in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas on the U.S./Mexican border after having served in international missions for six years in Venezuela and Mexico. They continue in educational missions and ministry, striving to touch both mind and heart. Jon teaches on the English faculty and serves as faculty advisor for the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship program on the South Texas College campuses (five in all) in the Rio Grande Valley. Jeanne reaches out to and works along side parents in local school district. Also, the Herrins continue to work cooperatively with the John Wesley Methodist Seminary (El Seminario Metodista Juan Wesley) and the Laurens Institute (El Instituto Laurens) three hours south of the border in Monterrey, Mexico.  In addition to working in educational settings in this 90+% Latino community, they also welcome mission teams who come to work with and through local ministries, reaching out to some of the very poorest communities in the U.S.

The Herrins appreciate your prayers as they strive to live the faith in very real, authentic ways, and as they strive to impact the lives of students and community residents.
